| In the spirit of St. Francis, I see treating all creatures with respect and kindness, seeing them as my relatives. I have spent 15 years working with children as a Waldorf teacher and am now refocusing my caring and sense of responsibility to my pet care business. I have grown up with animals—reptiles, dogs and birds, as well as building Lego houses for spiders (my mother had arachnophobia, so it was a great way to keep her out of my room!). I have also been the owner of cats, and even a monkey when I was in the Peace Corps in Africa. I have also worked for an animal rescue shelter in Southern California, tending the big cats, wolves, and simians.Today I am sharing my love for animals with my 5-year-old son as we explore nature, take care of our rodents, insects and fish, and have the pleasure of playing and caring for a variety of neighbors’ and clients’ animals.
I am available to provide care to your beloved pet in a variety of ways: from walks, visits, and pet-sitting. I have had experience tending farm animals as well, such as chickens and goats and am willing to work with larger animals. I have also had a lot of experience with gardening and will happily tend to your garden and plants. I am available days and evenings and serve the Santa Rosa area (outside of the area is a possibility pending on size of the job). Individual Walks Your dog will get loving attention and much needed exercise. Of course, I will be conscious of being a good neighbor and will clean up after your dog. $15 for a 30 minute walk $25 for a 60 minute walk * $3 for each additional dog Buy 4 60-minute walks and get the 5th one free! Off Leash Play Variation of individual walk fees dependent upon: travel to park/beach/dog friendly area and any behavioral issues. Please provide a ball or other retrievable toy for your dog(s). For those dogs needing a lot of running I can ride my bike on a bike trail with your dog in tow. Animal Visits Fees start at $15 per visit and include: love and attention, feeding, changing water and cleaning the cat box, barn, coop, cage, fish tank, etc.. Grooming and baths and can be requested as well. Pet Sitting The fee for live-in pet sitting job starts at $60 per 24 hour period. This fee can vary depending upon number of animals and visits during the day. It includes watering plants, collecting mail, and of course, a presence in your home while you are away. Over 5 days the rate is $50 per day. The fee for live-out pet sitting job is based on the number of visits, number of animals and plants, and the work that is to be involved in the care of your home. Boarding at my home is a possibility at $30 a day or $25 a day for 4-7 days or $20 for 8 days or longer for your dog. Price includes becoming part of a loving family with many walks and lots of individual attention. You will provide food and beloved toys and whatnots. Smaller animals that have smaller needs are half-priced. Overnight is considered from 12-24 hrs. $5 an hour will be charged for every hour beyond 24 hours with a $25 maximum.. Day Care with me is a possibility if you want your pet to have company during the day. There will be walks, perhaps car rides and hanging out with me and the family. The charge is $5 an hour or $25 for the day. Bring food and toys. |
