ARTIST'S STATEMENT
This gallery is dedicated to the spiritual teachers who have been with us over the long passage of time, as well as to the contemporary guides. I am not a follower of all these teachers, nor do I necessarily agree with all of their teachings; or for that matter, will agree with but little  of them if they foster an unhealthy dependency or push a lot of techniques or espouse gaining powers. However, it is dedicated to all of them because the teacher is invaluable for those who seek to know themselves and God. Not that they are the answer, these teachers, these gurus, but that they play the important role of guide. And if a teacher is of any worth, the outer teacher will point inward so that the seeker will find the teacher within. Everywhere abound teachers: they can  be found in our families, with our colleagues, friends or enemies, in nature, everywhere. However, to find a teacher who can consciously guide one back to the truth of our innate Divinity is a rare gift. Yet, the challenge in finding such a one is to not become attached to their form, for the form will fail. Human shortcomings will still be there, and time and circumstances will eventually take that form away. In the end, just as with a child and her parents, there comes a time when she must leave the shelter of the home and venture out alone. But, in the case of disciple and Teacher, the disciple can never be alone, for the Teacher is always there, in the backround, watching and guiding, and smiling all the while.
